Character Design funness...

Task: To create several new costume designs for an unspecified, and fairly diversified cast of characters....very village people-esque.

So the first image, obviously, is not mine. This would be Shang, from Mulan. We had to take this image and make five different costumes based on the pose, not necessarily sticking to the style of Mulan. While they are far from professional, my personal favourite would be the last image, of him in a dress...I'm pretty sure this would be my exact facial expression if placed in a dress. For it would be against my will.

Adios!

[Edited: I found the images were far too....visable. I had to scare them down. I didn't want you viewers to think I was actually attached to these drawings in anyway...jibblies.]

My first Posted Animation!

Well, it's not pretty. The feet jitter around a lot. I'm going to go in later, and fix that up, but right now, it's 3:30 in the morning, and I'm tired, so I'm just putting this up. Hope to be posting more often now. Adios!

Edited: I have replaced the first one with a much better version...um...not improved, only more...visable...which is perhaps not a good thing, considering the horrible content...but I'm hoping that positive change will affect even negative things. Like the way Plus eats Minus, and spits him out as a Plus...that's the only way I got through grade 12 math.

Harry, Harry and more Harry...

Here is the assignment for my first week at school. Done for character design. I've drawn this little guy pretty much all through my school career, and quite frankly, he's becoming a bit of a pill. I've never actually seen the show, Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, but I can imagine it's probably on par with watching paint dry, as the saying goes...I don't have the patience to be witty right now.

In any case, this first one is a turnaround, the second a series of poses we were to do, and my personal favourite, the third one. Harry. Hanging from a fishing line. Not. Living.

Well, that's the end of that horrid post. Tune in next time...

More Classroom work...

More pictures photoshoped by me. Again, I did not draw these pictures. They were provided by my teacher, and I'm told they were actual backgrounds for various tv shows. My favourite is the frat house. There's more 'frat' than 'house' on those walls, let me tell you!

Well, anyway, back to doin' stuff. We'll talk to you later! Adios!

Shhhh...top secret picture...

Here's a picture I did earlier this year...as in before the summer 'officially' started. It was for a company that wanted to run a comic character. I never heard back from them. I think if you look at the picture, the 'whys' and 'hows' will automatically be answered. You see? I'd never leave you in the dark. And this is the page that I decided to show you. Just imagine the ones I held back...on second thought. Don't imagine them. Save yourself the headache. And if you have to, imagine that they are amazingly better than this one.

I like the method of passing off food the character is using in the first panel. As the squiggly black lines indicate, the best way to convince a person to try some new food, assuming at first they reject your offer, is to shake said food product in their face, as if the sudden proof that the object is mobile will do the job your initial offer couldn't. It helps to through in some, "H'uh? H'uh?"s, for effect. Give it a try. See what happens.

Digital BG Painting...

Here are the first two assignements I received from school. The drawing itself is an actual background from a show or movie. I just applied the colours.

Sketchbook work...

Well, here they are. Sketchbook pages...not pretty. Horrible, maybe. Horrendous, perhaps. Pretty? Only if you're married to a cow...and even then, a cow gives you milk. Try getting milk from these pieces of chicken-scratch. The best you'll find here is a one way ticket to "Paper-cut City"....I believe that's near Wyoming. Or France.

At any rate, the top drawing was done whilst I was a-watching Troy. It's not exactly Brad Pitt, but Brad Pitt isn't exactly Brad Pitt. And if you know what I'm talking about, please fill me in. I'm clueless. The other two pages of 'drawings' are from the Jazz Frestival near downtown Toronto last night. I'm reminded how rusty I've been getting, but there are aspects I was happy with...at least they are starting to look more humanoid in shape. I'm pretty sure my life-drawing teacher would back hand me for saying that, but it's an honest effort at this point. Well, I'm going to go...do...something.

Adios!

Here comes the Venom now...

Here's a quicky I did today. Will get to colouring it soon. The cleanup isn't that much different from the rough. That is all for now. I'm late for getting my self to the festival of the Jazz...

Y'all...

...he's fat. And doesn't look like he's the fastest draw in the world. Looks like he'd break into a sweat reaching for a bag of pork rinds. You shall see his coloured cousin within the next few days.

This is possibly going to be the design for one of my flash animation characters for my third year film. Well, one possibility. We'll see. I may show more later. Maybe not. Again, we'll see. Just stop bugging me about it, okay? Peasant

Pants...?

Well, here is a picture I did the other day. I'm trying to get back into the grove of doing more fine art drawings. If I have to tell you that this is a copy of Michelangelo's David, then I haven't done my job....and you need to get more culture.
